Wired.com reports that Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. (NASDAQ:TTWO) and Gearbox Software have announced the general release time of the highly-anticipated Duke Nukem Forever, which has been in production since 1997. The game will reportedly be released sometime next year, though a specific date has not been given by officials."Clearly the game hadn't been finished at 3D Realms but a lot of content had been created," Gearbox Software's CEO Randy Pitchford told the Wall Street Journal. "The approach and investment and process at 3D Realms didn't quite make it and it cracked at the end. With Gearbox Software we brought all those pieces together. It's the game it was meant to be." Wired.com's Curtis Silver writes that Duke Nukem Forever will reportedly be a sequel to Duke Nukem 3D with single- and multi-player options.
